What's his best film?
Eraser Head > Mulholland Drive > Inland Empire > Blue Velvet
Still gotta watch Lost Highway and The Elephant Man

>Mulholland Drive
>"muh lesbians and shitty mystery"
Kill yourself.Lost Highway is fantastic.
>>81487351
>Inland Empire over Blue Velvet
>>81487136
Inland Empire is the most pure manifestation of his style. Blue Velvet and Elephant Man are his best straight-forward movies. Mulholland Drive is a great combination of his style and straight-forward filmmaking.

I honestly didn't like Blue Velvet at all, no matter how hard I tried. It didn't even really feel like a David Lynch film for the most part.
FWWM > Lost Highway > Blue Velvet > Elephant man > Mulholland Drive > Wild at Heart
Havent seen Eraserhead or Inland Empire yet
>>81487508
I don't get this Elephant Man meme. It's just a generic, straightforward drama. Pretty much not special or interesting in any way.
Blue Velvet
>tfw i got a nice fire walk with me poster hanging on my wall
>tfw never seen fire walk with me
Fire Walk With Me and Mulholland Drive

It's Lynch's handling of the subject. Instead of going over the top, he told a story of human dignity. A lesser director would have fucked up teh tone. Also the photography is brilliant.

>Mulholland Drive is so good that this is the best argument a faggot could come up with
Lost Highway is his objective best though.
>>81487882
and the acting is really great too
Lost Highway
Mulholland Drive Is the greatest film of this century. Prove me wrong.
The Straight Story :3

I've only seen about half of his movies, but of those I've seen, I would unironically say that Eraserhead is best. The following is meant unironically.
Eraserhead is a work of art. It develops a distinctly American surreal space, and "way of being weird" which Lynch clearly references in everything else he did subsequently: darkened apartments, nervous and confused characters, explicit or implied sex and violence, and intentionally stilted comic relief (the extreme absurdity of Henry's first visit to Mary's house can't help but make you laugh, even if nervously, to dispel all the /weird/ going on) to punctuate the proceedings.
I'll go a step further and get pretentious: when I saw Eraserhead for the first time, I instantly "got it", because I "got" another artist: Edward Gorey. I associate Lynch with Edward Gorey, another fairly popular artistic weirdo. They both reference other parts of the world, but are quite distinctly American in their art.

That too. The tear in Hopkin's eye as the camera slowly moves in. It's pretty damn close to perfect. Everyone was at the top of their game.
Twin Peaks (1989)

>this is a stock image
One day somebody somewhere will require a stock image of a retard squatting with a pot of sausages and they will have it. There's really one for everything.

elephant man is the only one that makes any sense

>sausages

>>81488125
>retard

>>81488095
It's a real shame that Lynch will never put together an uncut edition which includes some of the crucial plot development Universal cut in the film release as well as some of the unused parts of the Toto soundtrack.
>>81488095
The character and production design of that film is incredible.
>>81487136
>Lynch
>film
He can keep trying.
>>81487961
This is pretty close. A few in the middle could be swapped, but the first and last are correct.
>>81487882
>Instead of going over the top, he told a story of human dignity
Honestly I felt like it was a little over the top. Not offensively over the top, but just a little too far for me to take it seriously.
That Jojo movie he did was neat.

This. The fanedit redeems the entire film.

Where can I actually download the Spicediver version?
I found the 3-hour fan cut online before which was interesting but I think it was a different fan edit.
>>81487892
They are essentially the same concept.
>>81488548
Yeah I really liked Lost Highway, mostly because of the soundtrack. I'm sure not everyone would rate it as highly as I did though.

What the fuck. How did you get that filename?

Last time I found a torrent link on /tv/, so if this link doesn't work you might want to hit the archive.

Thank you.
INLAND
EMPIRE
Loved Blue Velvet
Hated Eraserhead
Mulholland Drive convinced me not to bother watching the rest
I still see Netflix recommending me Twin Peaks now and again. Might give it a try some day.
