Thor 2 was kinda iffy. It wasn't a bad movie but it wasn't stand-out. Blame that on the GOT director.

But the first one is absolute kino. Kenneth Brannagh made an absolutely good film (you could just see how much Thor 2 missed him). It wasn't as big on the superhero action for a capefilm, though it still had a good amount of action, but, moreover, it was a coming of age story.

I unironically loved this movie

The only negative I see is the black actress playing Valkyrie, she has 0 sex appeal and I don't think she's very pretty, they could have found another black actress that may have looked more attractive, we'll see with her (capeshit) acting

The freeze frame record scratch "You're probably wondering how I got here" meme was hilarious in the sense that they actually included it in a movie, its funny that it is fucking surreal that meme magic made it again in to the media

Also people hating on the "friend from work" bit, oh come on, you had to chuckle a little. Hulk (persona) has never really liked Thor but Hulk grew on Thor. Thor was always happy go lucky.

I think they're really forgetting what made Avengers and Loki work and what made Ultron not work. Loki was a villain audiences were semi-familiar with before. He put the Amulet back where it belonged though. As far as I know, the contents of the Amulet is the Time Stone, one of the infinity stones. Which is why it was so powerful. Of all the Stones it is the most obvious one that Thanos would want. As much as it might seem like an ass pull in the context of one movie, in the context of the full Universe, you realize showing off its power is to show you the power of what Thanos wants to control. And not just one of them. All of them.

Right now, Strange doesn't have the amulet. It's back in its holding place. And if anyone takes it out, that's probably going to be the point at which Thanos gets his hands on it.
