It's really awful - like the script was written from an educational rape textbook. It feels like a video they show kids in school. Every man is an absolute cunt as well. Tennant's character says that the case makes him feel embarrassed to be a man.

Now my first thought, was that the characters on the show are portrayed as normal people and something like could happen but then considering the tone of those season, I think the producers/writers/director actually saw that as proper parental behavior.

Also; how hard is it to get porn in the UK? I don’t get why the son and his friend are getting / stealing porn from the one kid’s dad, as if they’re in the 1980 when we only had nudie magazines?

Jokes aside, the casting of the rape victim was a terrible choice IMO.

Now I’m aware that in the real world, even old ugly broads get raped on occasion but for a tv show where I have to look at the character again and again, I felt they should have gotten at least a better looking woman.

For instance; the actress who plays the victims co-worker and who is married to the mechanic, would have been believable and appropriate for a visual medium like tv.
