is he REALLY a 'master manipulator'? all he did was just lie about pain (easy when you're such a fucking medical monstrosity that doctors take one look at you and give you the benefit of the doubt), tell people what they wanted to hear (in his case it was just repeating the very simple lie was just 'i'll take losing weight seriously THIS TIME!' over and over again), and threaten to call the cops if his guilt trip didn't work.

I have a feeling most of his marks just wanted to get rid of him and were keen to give him what he asked for because he's such a repugnant pile of human garbage and they figured giving him what he wanted was the easiest & quickest way to be done with him.

His dad was incredibly weak-willed so his 'powers of persuasion' over him aren't as impressive as they might seem.
