I'm glad they aren't remaking it, the first Conan movie is incredible. (The 2nd and 3rd Conan movies should not be mentioned though.)

The only good thing about that 3rd one was the slave chick with the perfect titties they rescue towards the beginning.

I believe it was a straight sequel, not a remake, with an older Conan. The title floating around for ages was 'Conan and the Road of Kings'.
One idea I see around here I'd have loved to see was
>Conan as king of Aquilonia, aging, thirsting for one final adventure
>sired two sons, both of whom are selfish, strange and unfit to inherit his title
>one day, a strapping youth strides into the court and proclaims himself Conan's bastard son
>Conan tests him, finds him to be true
>other sons learn of this, stage a coup
>one or both of the sons involved in sorcery
>Conan and his true son embark on one final adventure to out down the traitorous sons and restore rightful rule

Destroyer was fine for a popcorn fantasy action adventure. Doesn't hold a candle to Barbarian of course but it was good. Wilt the Stilt was boss, Grace Jones was great, and Olivia d'Abo was a living barbie doll that future sex robots should be modelled after.

I just think they should leave the franchise alone at this point. Part of what made the first one so fantastic was that James Earl Jones plays an amazing villain (and of course the music, cinematography, and fight sequences). I don't think they could recreate the magic of the first movie.

As much as I'd love to see the Conan movie franchise end on a high note, I agree completely. You'd have to get all the right people back together, and everyone's getting old. Dunno if John Milius is even still working. Conan the Barbarian is just too unique a movie.
