Queerbaiting is that thing where creators make a bunch a references to the characters being homo but never actually officially pull through with it.

Sam and Dean and Castiel are very close and a large chunk of the story lines in the show involve one of the three sacrificing themselves for the others. They legit cannot live without each other and doom the world multiple times over because of it. Some people read too much into it. I personally can't recall any instances of actual queerbaiting in the show but then again I don't really look for it nor do I ship any of the three aforementioned characters with each other in any combination.

If they want a gay/bi character Crowley is always there.

Up to and including 5 it's pretty good. That was supposed to be the original run and it was the original story the author had. After that they started coming up with stuff as they went.

After that point quality varies a lot. I still like the episodes which are primarily of the "monster of the week" type, but the overarching plots from S6 onwards can be pretty stupid

I haven't seen season 12 yet but I can't imagine what else they could have as a big boss and how it would be more intimidating than battling gods. They fought off the apocalypse as well as most creatures occupying heaven, hell, and limbo. Dean is fucking ungrateful and patronizing and Castiel has lost pretty much everything because he keeps siding with him. One of the angles that looked up to Cas even calls Dean out on it, and Dean has this regretful look on his face before the angel is killed off and nothing comes of it.

It is Buffy the Vampire Slayer but with more dudes. It is a fun show and there are 11 seasons on Netflix so you have a lot of time killing there. The later season do get a bit old with them all being a whole season of "we have to kill this really bad world destroying thing" and the season ending with "yay we destroyed the big bad thing but oh fuck to do so we released something even worse we have to deal with next season". Even in those seasons they still have a decent amount of fun monster week shows.

In the first case they had a choice so they could delay/deny it. In the second case it wasn't really up to them so whether it's fine or not did not matter.

Also for the apocalypse it's not just a fight between the two but between all the armies and hell and heaven as well - which would last for years and kill off people. For the god fight it could be more localized and shorter. Also it's some reverse-shonen logic so everyone's power level decreased greatly after the early seasons.
