It amazes me how he did so much shit while blackout drunk and didn't get caught.

I remember reading the comic. It was pretty depressing to be honest.

Sinthasomphone soon became unconscious, whereupon Dahmer drank several beers while lying alongside Sinthasomphone before leaving his apartment to drink at a bar, then purchase more alcohol.

Against the protests of the three women, the officers simply covered Sinthasomphone with a towel and walked him to Dahmer's apartment where, in an effort to verify his claim that he and Sinthasomphone were lovers, Dahmer showed the officers the two semi-nude Polaroid pictures he had taken of the youth the previous evening. The officers later reported having noted a strange scent reminiscent of excrement inside the apartment (this odor emanated from the decomposing body of Hughes). Dahmer stated that to investigate this, one officer simply "peeked his head around the bedroom but really didn't take a good look." Upon the departure of the two police officers from his apartment, Dahmer again injected muriatic acid into Sinthasomphone's brain; on this second occasion, the injection proved fatal.

Jesus Christ.

The comic was excellent, so I have high hopes for this.

And it could be anyone. Contrary to what movies or tv show, most serial killers are rather unremarkable in appereance of behaviour, the kind you'd ignore completely. There's a difference between glorification and exploration. The comic, and presumably this film, explore Dahmer before his crimes to try and delve into why they happened.

Basically Dahmer is painted as someone who was either born messed up or quickly became that way due to a combination of his parents, his social shortcomings, and however those fucked up thoughts got in his head. He was waved away his whole life, he was a homosexual in a time when that would have meant being even more ostracized, and he had a genuine fetish for dead people (or at least completely immobile ones.) He turned to drink to try and numb his urges, had no ambition besides morbidity, and finally just gave in.

Shitty cops aside, Dahmer was caught because one of his victims placated him by saying they were friends, then ran out of the apartment and flagged down some cops, and the cops noticed he was handcuffed and knew something was up. They followed him to Dahmer's apartment where they investigated and found photos of bodies and a severed head in the fridge.

By Manson's own accounts the family was already bloodthirsty when he met them at Spahn Ranch. Manson also claims this was his first meeting with acid.

The family on their side claims Manson beat them and filled their heads with commands to kill when they were drugged up. Manson claims they talked about many things and the alleged "Helter Skelter" theory is a spun narrative of the many things the family talked about.

If Manson is of the level that he can get anyone to do what he says, and the family was simply manipulated by him it tells us two things. There are individuals out there that can get people to do what they are saying by persuasion alone. Was it Konerak Sinthasomphone, who was Dahmer's actual 13th victim, or Matt Turner his 14th victim? The confusion being that investigators often left Steven Hicks, Dahmer's first victim off the victim tally because he was murdered in Ohio, which would make victim 13 more likely to be Matt Turner.

How many victims he actually ate remains unknown, but three for certain.

HUNDREDS of episodes in and he still hasn't upgraded his audio software. I've been tempted for a couple years now to send him a cheap mic/ mixer but I doubt he'd be able to handle it.
