Why are there so many UZIs in movies? They aren't even that good. I've gotten the chance to shoot one several times at my local range and they are really underwhelming for how popular they are. Most of the frame is thin sheet metal, but at the same time the gun is really heavy for its size. It manages to have one of the most uncomfortable grip angles ever devised, and somehow manages to have unusually large amount of recoil even thought it weighs a ton and only shoots 9mm. I've never shot a Micro or Mini UZI but I imagine they aren't much different.

It probably has something to do with hollywood jews promoting gun from their homeland or something, but damn it's a really flawed gun.

Open bolt blowback SMGs are cheap to manufacture and have some advantages over closed bolt. One major advantage is heat. I have a full auto UZI and a Sterling.
The Sterling is awesome. Very accurate, controllable with slow rate of fire, easy to maintain. Magazines are very easy to load. I would take one over a MP5 any day.
