3 is maybe the worst season. Or at least tied with 5 for worst. It's so run of the mill and surface level, it completely strips away any of the subtlety of plot built up in the first two seasons to be merely a procedural.

As opposed to many retarded opinions, no, season 5 wasn't shit. Yes, it was disappointing, but it was still a damn good season packed with some great scenes, i.e. McNulty getting analyzed and the wrap up was great, also don't forget the scene where Michael kills Snoop.

1/4 > 2 > 3 > 5, McNulty > everyone else.

I kept seeing this show compared to the sopranos which why I mentioned it I expected similar writing but didn't get it. Its not shit just mediocre for what it is. It has plot points that pretty much go nowhere. This is strictly my opinion but just about all the characters aside from stringer avon and crew are unlikeable. The show wants me to care about them but its not well written and they feel forced especially all the drama between the lesbian cop mcnulty and the chief lieutenant or whatever he is.Deaths in the show didnt have much of an impact unlike the sopranos when pussy dies you feel that when bodie dies its just oh hes dead. theres so many things I didnt like about it. Just mediocre all around.
