Because Asians have no souls. They lack the creative ingenuity for Art that Europeans have. And since European people have previously set the standard for Art so high, other cultures can't come anywhere near it.

That being said, Asians do have the ching pong IQ necessary to be first world countries that are capable of providing the mechanisms in which Art is possible. However, in the modern globalised world, this results in Asians (and like you said, Korea specifically since it's an American colony), being only able to produce cheap imitations of Western Art.

The most striking example of this is the phenomenon of Korean Popular music. They have taken the apex of degenerate modern western 'art', and have attempted to exemplify it.

It really is a terrible thing.

All I see when I look at this is Se7en and Dawn of the Dead.

And you know, some of them may actually be decent movies. I've seen all of these except "My Sassy Girl" (what is this shit? Fucking Love Actually: Gook Edition?)

The only really memorable one is The Chaser in my opinion. And even then, it wasn't anything I hadn't seen before, it was just a well made thriller.

If anything, their hellish reality of 20 hour workdays forces them to have very soulfoul art productions.

Because you only hear about all the edgy shit to have come out of S Korea and Japan. The only movies that get hyped as "ooOOOOooo crazy asian horror films" but everyone ignores perfectly fine films like Last Train Home, Poetry (Lee Chang-dong), Aftershock, and Golden Slumber specifically because they aren't super edgy.
