It was pretty good but when I watched it I wasn't aware of Halloween (pretty young) so didn't know the premise. Now I'm not so sure if I should like it as much.

I liked the scene where the masks killed the kids. Overall, it's a terrible film. If it wasn't called Halloween III, you wouldn't give a shit about it nor would you have ever heard of it. Unless you really enjoy digging into mediocre horror films of the 80's.

I don't know what's worse. Hating Halloween III because it doesn't have Michael Myers, or pretending it's by far the best in the series. It's just an average movie in every aspect.

Not a criticism.

It's a fusion of Irish warlock magic and 80's technology, of course it's going to be elaborate. The whole films builds it up piece by piece and keeps you in suspense. With the exception of the "I'm gonna tie you to a chair and explain my plan" scene, that was kinda lame. It's a scathing critique of consumerism and how it destroys the original meaning of holidays, and if you don't care about that it works brilliantly on a visceral level too. Seeing the kids head turn into snakes and knowing its going to happen to thousands of other kids is horrifying.
