besides the gore reanimator is a shitty adaption even the amount of gore is not gory enough as the story. sadly it will never be adapted and if it was it would be an X rated

So was From Beyond, but it was still fun. I cannot say anything about the Re-Animator* as I haven't seen it sense I was a little kid and my parents were asleep, and I snuck on Skinemax to watch it. I seen From beyond two years ago, and thought it was wild.

The Void (2016) is a horror anthology.

The Void (2017) is what we're all waiting on.

>>
>>81360915
Nobody cares because the HD one is all people will get
>>
im so confused i thought this movie came out in 2017
>>
>>81360932
IMDB date is 2016. The IMDB is determined when the movies finished production, not when it is scheduled for release. Lots of indie movies get released LONG after they were produced because they didn't have a distributor for a long time.

Look at You're Next 2011 which came out in 2013.
>>
Anyone planning to stream this shit? Would be comfy af
>>
>>81360978
The IMDB date is not the release date, idiot. The IMDB date is when the movie was produced.
>>
>>81360978
>>81360984
>>81361003
>>81360826
>>81360734
>A screening/exhibition of a film or video is considered to be valid for the purposes of determining the initial release date/year if any of these criteria are met, even if the work undergoes subsequent changes/post-production work/edits:

It screened in front of a paying audience (i.e. they attended a paid event).
It won any kind of award at the event
It was reviewed by a legitimate/established publication or critic based on that screening

http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?titleformat

The VOID screened in 2016, hence the IMDB date is 2016. That's how they choose the official IMDB dates.

It is NOT the release date, according to IMDB.
>>
There are already a shitload of links for that horror anthology that shares the same name and year, so good fucking luck.
>>
>>81360989
The torrent is only at 4% now for everyone, RARGB takes fucking forever when a movie is uploaded.
>>
>>81361078
>There are already a shitload of links for that horror anthology that shares the same name and year, so good fucking luck.

We already have the real movie, dumbass. I'm torrenting it right now.
>>
>>81361101
Yeah it's annoying that they don't use a seedbox that limits the number of upload slots to 4. I think they do the initial seed to like 100 people at the same time, hence the slow availability.
>>

Lol I can't believe people think they will go to jail if they get caught watching an indie horror movie that only nerds know about.

It's not Game of Thrones, retards. Nobody is monitoring these indie movies. 90% of torrents are NOT, I repeat, NOT monitored because they don't belong to huge companies and don't make a huge profit.

This is playing over the weekend at my local kino theater, is it worth seeing on a large screen?

I love practical effects too and its a plus if the acting is there as well but I don't expect much. Is it a good time though for $10?

If its actually worth seeing and the HD copy gets out before this weekend I might just use that and take it to a friends house
>>

Oh no I totally am the same way when I can afford it. I took all my friends to go see It Follows in theaters and also legally rented Harbinger Down for this same reason.
>>
>>81363051

Thats great to hear but the thing(no pun intended) that The Thing did well besides just effects were actors/acting, setting, and just overall atmosphere of world in the movie. Everything felt authentic, and I love the look of it all.
>>
>>81363089
The HD copy already came out you stupid fag. Look at the thread.
>>
just watched it, some of the effects and the general look is very nice, but the story is pretty bad and really made me stop caring. they could have made it about random monster attacking for no reason and it wouldve been more enjoyable. also theres a pretty bad cgi/greenscreen shot at the end.

I'll agree with this. As soon as they went to get the nurse the film lost all steam.

>>81365604
Chink nurse and mute guy are the only ones that survive.
Cop saves the day by pushing the skinned evil doctor into a portal? (Big glowing triangle) and all evil seems to stop.
Cut to cop and his ex (who we assumed was dead and torn apart by some horrific monster that was earlier in her womb?) both seemingly unharmed in a wasteland that has been shown at various times during the flick. They look up to see a gigantic floating pyramid.
They look up at it in fear and then they hold hands.... CREDITS.
Yes it is that shit and yes it makes little sense.

And the other two survivors make it out of hospital. I called it hopeful because the two survivors don't appear to be insane, and the Cop and Wife are back together.
>>

Its a CoC session as a movie.
>>
>>81369098
It was not a very coherent ending.
>>
>>81369098
I assumed that's the case but there's no explanation about what this void is or what it represents. It seemed (to me at least) vague for the sake of being vague.
Most scenes or events were just so disjointed and made no sense at all. I understand the need to keep things su the and up to the viewers imagination but some of it just seem lazy and thrown together with little to no sense.
I don't know if you have seen Prince of Darkness by John Carpenter (which seems to be a huge influence) but that film created just enough suspense and mystery while not leaving it's audience in the dark about the events that took place.

>>
>>81370179
>Supporting something you like
>Paying before watching, before you know if it's something you like
That logic does't really check out bud, how is it supporting what you like until AFTER you've seen it?

I only watch films in cinema if I want to watch them before they are available to pirate, or if I pirated them and enjoyed it enough to pay to see it the way it was meant to be seen and support them, after I know I like it, and even then I shell out way more money to filmakers via box office than the average person, so I'm not exactly killing the industry.

That being said, they should just netflix the whole box office system and charge you to watch it at home, in a way that is more convenient than piracy, if they actually want to curb the effects of piracy.

I've been super excited for this movie and sadly it is a letdown. Here's what I did like, some spoilers but the movie is pretty incoherent so it doesn't really matter:

>the shots and quick cuts to the void during the first half of the film, kind of like event horizon but more eerie
>cult member outfits
>Some of the practical FX, especially when they go down to the basement for the first time and the one thing is smashing it's face for the first time. Those are the best effects of the film
>The bad guy's voice
>the scene at the end with the triangle, the bad guy, etc screenshotted above.
>The bit about main character being relieved by his child's death because he didn't want it

That's pretty much it. The acting falls somewhere between mostly bad and cheesy at best. The editing is really terrible at times. The hostage standoff in the hospital early on is the worst scene in the film, which is a shame because it sets the tone and is a complete disaster. Bad acting and incoherent editing and some of the worse FX in the movie too. Speaking of the practical fx, there's lots of talk about it and it doesn't do so hot. There's one standout scene that's pretty brief, and the main badguy's final form makeup is neat. But there's two larger creatures that make significant appearances and these look pretty terrible both in design and execution.

It essentially feels like an 80s film that aged poorly. As another anon pointed out, Prince of Darkness feels similar in plot but is a lot better.
>>
>>81372773
It feels like an "everything plus the kitchen sink" movie which is overstuffed, and they don't let the effective things have their own time to shine.

It's a shame because there is some good stuff here, if they slowed it down and made the movie involve the cult members more, focused more on the ever evolving and changing geography of the hospital and the land as the void started to open, saved the "horns" sound that encompasses the world for a more impressive moment and made a bigger deal about it, cut down the practical FX to a practical level (ditch the two larger monsters, imply them at best) and then end it with some kind of 2001 esque trip/decent into madness/into the void and this would have been real KINO. As it is there's some standout moments but the poor acting, editing, and ADD tone ruins the potential this has.
>>
I knew this was going to be a budget Prince of Darkness, I could tell from the trailer right away
>>
>>81360098
>HDRip

>>
I don't even know what "incoherent" is supposed to mean. Sure not a lot is explained except what you needed to know, but that's not the same as incoherent to me. People get stuck in a hospital by weird cult, cult leader is trying to ascend. People transform or go crazy and a lot of practical special effects. What else did you people fucking need?
>>

Thing is I didn't like PoD as much because it was more exposition and explanation than spooky shit. I mean I loved the concepts explored in that movie, but I felt as far as cosmic horror goes it really felled short, especially compared to the other two installments of the Apocalypse Trilogy The Thing and At the Mouth of Madness.
>>
Lustmord is DroneKino
>>
>>81373014
Incoherent is the perfect word to describe this movie and not due to the plot. The editing is all over the place and the movie feels disjointed. Lack of clarity on plot elements is irrelevant. It jumps from scene to scene with very little skill or through line. There's a couple of scenes that it feels like they took a lot of time on, like the triangle showdown climax at the end, but most others feel rushed and all over the place, like the hostage scene at the beginning. Basically every "event" scene feels off, and in between is just shots of characters walking down hallways.

Torrents? Reliable? O you sweet summer child.
Let's educate you a bit.
Overlooking that torrents are sometimes fakes or have hidden "features".
The same torrent you're downloading to your computer to watch is the same file that's playing through the stream.
The difference is where as you download it onto your HD and store it, open it in a player, etc.
A streaming site you just click the link and hit play.
Ask yourself why don't you torrent shit you watch on youtube?
Why do you watch youtube when you could torrent most of the same content?
Come on now.
Torrents are just old tech. There's no real reason to bother with them when you can watch off the site.
You know like watching a Netflix series instead of downloading the torrent.
