Yep. As much as it is hated by critics. It did give the less loved Universal Monster new hope.

It's pretty good. Better than the sequels. There was a drop in the storytelling quality in part 2 (I didn't mind the cgi that much, it was okay for the time it was made in) and of... everyting else in part 3.

Part 2 had some dumb moments. Brendan being one of the tattoo people, his wife being the reicarnation of an Egyptian princess, end of the world and quips, Buffy-style.

It wasn't BAD, there was a few great moments in it, but it doesn't come close to the first one.
