to be honest i think that part of the expanse is fucking retarded ,they're burning 0.3g towards and away from most destinations which is a fuckhuge waste of propellant and energy even with he tech they have . they'd much rather put the crew in some medical coma inside some pressure chamber or something that would prevent them from dying and do a 30+g unmanned burn at the beginning and end for more efficiency , especially with military vessels in a hostile situation since hard burn + free falling the rest of the way without thrust is the closest thing to stealth in the expanse .

the serum is to stay conscious at high g they can also put everyone in a medical coma which allows them to take more Gs, what im saying is if they put them in a coma and pump their blood full of some nanomachines or any number of other things which are way less futuristic then the fusion drives they have they can take way more Gs .

this is useful because everyone in the system can see your main engine burns , but if you do a short hard burn and turn everything off afterwards they dont know in which direction you burned . at some point in the books someone gets ambushed this way by ships that burned hard and were flying with everything turned off.

There is no vacuum in a sealed room that opens up since air is still being blown into it. You would just get pushed out by the rush of wind that "blows" you out the entrance. doesn't address human-machine interface technology being developed , hiveminds, simulated realities ,everyone having implant enchantments , genetic engineering making weird ass humans with weird traits (like the '''vampires''' ) and editing memories and erasing memories\traumas .
also where the expanse is pretty good as far as first-contact-stories go firefall is god tier and i'd even say it feels kinda realistic , its my favorite first contact story after solaris.
