Is it cool to wear a shirt and tie for a first date? What are your thoughts? Does it make a lasting impression?
When you look that good. A tie is an accessory as anything else.

Guess it depends where you're going.
Generally just a shirt will suffice.

Also bears mentioning that it's going for a 50s style, and shirt/tie was basically what every man wore when being social.

I usually wear it for work but I figure I'll loosen the tie up a bit just to keep it casual.
>tfw nearing 30
>still look like a kid playing dressup whenever I put on a suit
>>81306275
you made a thread on /fa/ already, and the answer is no, unless it's a restaurant
>>81306379
The definition of style is doing anything while making it look effortless. Do consider how you look in general.

No. I would only wear a tie on a date if the venue required it. You should probably wear a nice button shirt no polo on a first date, but by date #5 a polo is dressing nice.
Unless you specifically tell her the first date is something active. Like one of my go to moves is taking leftist hippy girls to a gun range. It gets their panties soaking. That would be a polo first date.

or
>body is too pudgy to look good in a suit.
>tfw not enough structure in my body to look serious in a suit.
now that the dust has settled, what did /tv/ think of this movie?
>>81306275
Well, the restaurant you should be taking her to will most likely at least require a jacket, unless you're poor and can't afford a real date.
>>81306385
Buy a shirt that fits then you cretin
>>81306275
ya but make sure you take her somewhere nice like dennys
>>81306275
If you look like a Ryan fucking Gosling.
>>81306275
if a girl is offended that you wear a shirt and tie on a first date she probably isn't worth it
>>81306275
The movie is supposed to have a very 50s and 60s aesthetic right? Back then wearing a suit and tie was pretty much the norm for men.
If you're attractive enough wearing a tie and a fashionable jacket/slack combo is fine. But not in most cases.

go to a tailor and alter your suit
easy as pie, not many people are exact mediums or whatever
>>81308381
>how are you on this fine day, belissima?
>>81308595
>pinstripes
Disgusting.
