Where are all my cyberpunk (actual cyberpunk) movies with full cyberpunk cities,
not just "hurr durr sci fi stuff in a normal looking city". I want fucking never ending buildings and living multicultural streets with neon signs/advertising and robots and flying cars everywhere
>Blade Runner
>Total Recall reboot
>Ghost In The Shell hollywood edition
>Virtual Revolution
>Dredd (both the first and the reboot)
>a handful of scenes in Star Wars (few full episodes of the Clone Wars)
>Almost Human (though it doesnt count in half of what I listed)
Please tell me im missing some

>>81251474
trying to leave anime out of this.
that list can go on forever.
its why the hollywood edition was on the same like as ghost in the shell
>>81251497
cyberpunk for a few minutes before the cruse ride then it just becomes the usual sci-fi adventure.
still a good film though

Tron: Legacy
>>81251336
I like this one. The CGI isn't that great but the story is really good. That Asian chick has the pointiest tits I've ever seen
>>81251336
>Ghost In The Shell hollywood edition
We needed more of the city
>>81251336
mmm Brazil maybe? I can't remember. Might have just been Englishmen in suits.
>>81252413
>>81251336
>a handful of scenes in Star Wars
Attack of the Clones' first half was pure cyberpunk.
John Williams even had a crazy guitar solo play during the coruscant chase (never heard Williams bring out a guitar and doubt I ever will again).
>>81252426
We also need better CG and less of the building holograms. Fine with roadside holograms and the like, though. It's just the gigantic people that look retarded.
>>81252531
Well you could say the giant holograms represent an age where people are very obsessed with technology that they keep going to the extreme with everything just because they can
>>81252771
And I could say that they looked stupid in every single shot they're in. I'm also not in the habit of making excuses for poor films or poorer adaptions.
>>81252796
Well Ghost in the Shell was an amazing film to me
neo-seoul in cloud atlas
and im guessing you are not counting akira?

Cyber Punk is dead and has been for a long time.
>>81251336
I've always wondered, who lives down on the earth in these cities, you know on the ground floor?
>>81254373
the dirt poor wage slaves keeping the city running.
Also Metropolis is pure proto cyberpunk, it doesn't quite fit the Asthetic (because it's from the 20's), but all the ideas are the same.
> endless city
> massive class division
> technology replacing humans.
>>81254308
>>81251562
"cyberpunk is dead" is such a stupid meme.
It's not true at all, if anything it's more alive than ever, just with slightly different aesthetics.
>>81254373
Some games and books have explored this, as cities get build higher and higher up basically the dingy, poor, starving, unemployed scumbags are at the bottom.
Its like class hierarchy pyramid, but a real vertical manifestation of it.
can't remember for sure, but didn't A.I. have some city scenes as well?
>>81252909
I really liked it too.
The only thing i disliked was the very end, from the spider Tank fight until the credits.
The tank scene lacked the quietness of the original.
>No BRRRRRRP machin gun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvIJvPj_pjE
>>81252426
>woman in a burqa
just why
Netflix ordered an Altered Carbon TV series. The showrunner is one of the writers of Terminator Genisys though so it'll probably be shit.
