is this the best horror ever made or overrated shit?
all depends on how much you pay attention or care.

As a Catholicfag who was told this movie is based on a true story and demonic possession is real, it traumatized the shit out of me.

a little of both. if you watch it when you're a kid who has had the fear of god instilled into you, then it's probably the most horrifying thing you've ever seen.
if you're high as fuck and watch it as an adult, it might seem completely ridiculous, over the top, or hilarious.

if you are a believer, of course it's the best
if you're not yet, this is
I can't believe they cut the spider walk, that shit was fucking terrifying.

That was a lot scarier than I remember. That was some freaky ass shit right there.
It's a pretty good movie, but I think The Thing and The Shining are better
somewhere in between, wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it'd be
>be priest
>go into room
>see a bed literally floating in the air, a girl who has green skin and red eyes and a demonic voice twisting her head and projectile vomiting slime at will
>hmm, I don't really see enough evidence for an exorcism

Pretty much this. Didnt see it til I was 15 n stoned, almost felt like an unintentional comedy
It is one of the best Horror movies of all-time.
It does a GREAT job at building up the tension and terror.
Though, some of the parts are too fantastical and take me out of the movie for a bit -- namely the headspin. If that was removed, it would have very few, if any, faults.

That scene is in the original novel and is exactly like that.
the best scenes were the priests dreams
