Rogue One didn't even make as much as Civil War.

If Disney want to save this sinking ship, they need to fire Kennedy immediately and put someone sensible in charge. Also maybe get Gary Kurtz on board if he's willing. And most importantly of all, start hiring quality filmmakers and writers instead of obedient young puppets and that hack Lawrence Kasdan.

Finally, someone who gets it.

Tfa was a major disappointment at the box office because it was a bland and merely "OK" movie in the vain of the MCU movies, and even the most die-hard disneyaboos still thought that it had major flaws.

I walked out wishing that I had at least seen the disjointed weirdness of a Lucas movie. Episode I had it's flaws, but it was still clearly a Star Wars movie, Jake, jar jar, and all.

Rogue One should have scared the shit out of Disney. The last hour or so was legitimately the best battle sequence in a Star Wars movie since ROTJ, and Lucas damn near said it himself. Disney's meddling and Kennedy's pathological desire to shoehorn in as many feminist storylines as she could completely killed the first two acts, and RO was an incoherent mess as a result, even if that mess ended with the best stretch of Star Wars this side of the OT.

Still, there'sno reason whatsoever why it shouldn't have out-grossed Suicide Squad and Civil War.

Hopefully, heads are going to roll once VIII inevitably underperforms hard enough that even the Disney spin team can't keep people from talking about the failure.

Why does everyone hate episode VII and the prequels? I love them. I think Episode III is the second best mainline Star Wars film after Episode V. Much better than poor quality films like episode VI.

It almost makes up for the "forced diversity rebel alliance filled with brown people vs the all-white empire" angle. Then again, I have a feeling that Gareth Edwards was probably forced to do that by (((them))), and it's pretty clear elsewhere the kind of film that he actually wanted to make (Star Wars getting the Galactica reboot treatment)
