I thought it was mediocre. Zero laughs, though a couple of clever lines. Plot was boring and completely predictable if you know the show. Was tempted to turn it off a couple of times. The script hits you over the head with meta-humor over and over again. Felt like it was explicitly re-describing the characters and premise of the show.

I came into it fairly neutral. I thought the first two seasons of the show were great, not excellent.

Will watch the next episode most likely. Hoping the show doesn't turn into a caricature of itself this season

For all the hype we were left with after S2 and how Rick is going to escape, I am disappointed they simply "reset" the series and Rick and Morty can go on wacky adventures with no regards to past (except birdperson, Jerry moving out). I expected something more dramatic and a big impact on the whole show which will remain during the whole season until everything is fixed instead of killing all Ricks and dismantling the federation.
Also, for me, this episode feels rushed.

It was fucking awesome. i liked how adult it was without having to be grimdark mature like a certain awful superhero film. I liked how they dealt with all these real issues like abandonment and psychological torture but portrayed it in this surreal sci fi hilarious adventure. The pace was insane. And every character got plenty of screentime without feeling forced or acting out of character. I will legitimately be raging when this doesn't win an emmy for best tv show.
