The kingdom of Agrabah is thousands of years in the future in a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland where Arabic culture survived for reasons.

Genie says he's been imprisoned in his lamp for 10,000 years and he immediately makes references to our modern world upon getting out. There's no other way he could know about those things at that time unless 10,000 years ago he became familiar with them because they were either contemporary references or recent enough history for him to have become familiar with them.
