Honestly, a bit sick of Mary Jane. She was never a very interesting character. She was literally "hot girl next door-turned-super model who falls for the nerdy guy".

I'd say we need someone like Black Cat or something, but she's basically Marvel's answer to Catwoman, and Catwoman is too well known to non-comic people.

More or less. It was relatively early in the life of comics, and writing wasn't exactly stellar. She served as a vehicle to motive Spider-Man after her death by GG (ignoring the "she had sex with Norman Osborn" bullshit retcon).

Difference is that MJ lasted to when writing in comics starting getting good, and they never had anything good for her to do because she was a boring, shallow character.
