Great movie director. He's like Lars Von Trier, but fixated on comics, punching, and explosions instead of graphic unsimulated sex.
Watching Watchmen right now, remarkable in every way despite been "impossible" to adapt. Makes me realize only Snyder can direct AKIRA but most likely it will never happen.
>>81175914
"Cringe" is the kind of reaction that occurs in response to something extreme, like seeing someone get a needle stuck in their eye.
Saying a character in a movie is cringe inducing is either high level autism or hyperbole.

you can see with his other work, Watchmen and MOS were pretty hated when they came out but now people have turned around said they are actually pretty good now.
he can take the heat for now.
I've always been a fan of his stuff.
>>81178091
How come none of the normie fucking shits call out civil war for these god awful and downright heinous shots
>>81178177
Because the people who "call out" Snyder aren't normal people but most always people who have already picked a side by one reason or another and looking to start a narrative against him. Just read the BvS reviews. Or Justice League articles. The narrative is against him. He can do 100 things right and one thing wrong and you'll be sure to know the one thing you'll hear about is the one thing he does wrong, over and over and over again.

the funny yet annoying this about the 'haters' is that they rely on blatant misinformation, most of the "muh snyder doesn't get the character why does he have to do this" bullshit was already decided on before he was even involved, pretty much everything logistical about the world they were inhabiting was made before anyone even spoke to him, yet of course he's martyred and everyone is supposed to fall in line and say the same bullshit things that can be proven wrong at an instant

you're two complaints were that he only imitates and has "badly made" action scenes in a film that is a straight adaption of a graphic novel
its not badly made it illustrates the other worldly physics of comic book characters in its fight scenes.
its comic to film in its most pure form.
>>81178717
I'm not a fan of modern Nolan anything after Inception has had this weird feeling about it... the way he is filming now and how super high quality the camera's he uses its just weird...

>>81176954
BvS
I've never loved Batman or Superman as much as I did in BvS. The clash of the old and idealistic with the new and cynical. Someone on /tv/ described it as the clash of the superhero concept in its core. Snyder loves Superman but recognizes his place in this world as doubtful if not even unwanted. BvS is Superman's victory.

>>81178814

This. I think it's why critics ended up so insecure when they had to review BvS. Here was a superhero film that had completely left its safe space and instead mocked media trends at large. Suddenly something very inoffensive and predictable had turned into its own beast that could be turned against people criticizing it.
BvS ended up proving itself right, even if it didn't want to.
>>81178897

Why do you care about the director more than the movie?
>>81178744
>complaints
My criticism was on a technical level that I had forgot that existed.
Do you want me to criticize it more?
Fine, he didn't get what the story was about, he made the movie because he thought the characters were cool, because he was in love with Dr, Manhattan, he wasted too much time on action scenes and neglected the characters, what I mean by this is that he copy pasted from the source without understanding it, and that is a fact, he did not understand what watchmen was about, the lack of interpretation show that Zack Snyder has no talent and shouldn't be working in the movie industry, he should be directing tv ads.
>>81178988
>he didn't get the book at all!
Right. And yet it was a three hour long movie.
Please elaborate on what went wrong and how you would fit it in a three hour movie without sacrificing the storyline or the tone.

Civil Wars one selling point ( its got all the characters guys wooow) is going to be outdone by the next Avengers flick anyway...

>>81179023

When will this meme die? Because if I'm confusing it with another marvel flick, in that movie one of the bad guys has had his conciousness transfered to some 80s computers, does the worse exposition I've ever seen in any movie telling Evans the whole plan and then it gets nuked for no reason. A movie wiht a scene like that is on a 6/10 restriction, and the rest wasn't that great either
>>81179083
I'm not saying its a good movie im saying in comparison to Civil Bore its "decent"
>>81178814
>>81178904
it's something that i wanted to write about, but i think this is the only movie of its kind, one that implicates and uses as much of culture and history as possible in the most self aware way possible
all of snyder's interviews point to this, his interest, obsession even, in media and culture and film and metaphor
fuck it, it's like society at large FUCKING WANTS a savior, and the fact that bvs used its admission of superheroes as current representation of the age old phenomenon of individual and collective self relation to god to say 'this isn't the way' hit people the wrong way
this is important, because bvs is the only one of these movies to blatantly admit that that's what these phenomenon are, they are not self contained intellectual property that contain so much meaning in and of themselves
>99% of people believe in a higher power
>people want a savior
even our own fucking election last year was painted in much the same way, especially in regards to trump
>>81178926
>ANything on-point or anything that tries to be consistent is called edgy
In the classical definition yes. But words evolve and take on new meaning. Today it's more associated with angst, weebshit, trying too hard, dark and gritty stuff.
The reason I said that with Snyder is because his cinematic language is basically the same as videogame cg trailers, which as a 14 year old I found to be very appealingstill do really.
Talking about stuff like this:
https://youtu.be/hf2irc_h3-U?t=1m23s
https://youtu.be/cc-ClutaN_I?t=26s
The over the top camera movements and revolving shots, the searching camera that zooms in on the target. All in Snyder's movies.
>>81175869
If you move BvS to the very bottom your list becomes exactly correct.
I think most of /tv/ has been swayed, now how do "we" enlighten the masses?
>>81175896

>>81179012
What's so hard for you to understand? Do I need to repeat myself? >>81174230
Snyder is in the same league as Bay, he is a jackass that cannot move past dumb action movies because he cannot do subtlety, when either of them try it comes off incredibly blatant. His dedicated fanbase is mostly filled with contrarians who like the obvious subtext in his movies because they can grasp it, alternatively show them a movie like STALKER, which isn't even that deep, and they get frustrated because the movie doesn't hand them the fucking answers.
Snyder is the very definition of a fraud, which just like him is transparent to anyone with a functioning brain.

You can meme and try to force this Bay thing as much as you want (not to mention Pain & Gain & The Rock which are good Bay movies) but he elevated the superhero genre to uncharted territory with BvS.
Saying contrarian isn't an argument. It's you being mad people disagree with you. In an era where blockbuster cinema is at its lowest point, along comes Snyder and induces a paradigm shift this genre desperately needs. Of course, it's easy to promote "turn off your brain" culture and say Marvel atleast entertains you but that's assuming the position of the infantile for disregarding greater works in the genre.

/tv/ is /tv/. You generally need to struggle for stream views. It usually works better when it's in the OP but whatever.

Are you just guessing or claiming to be leaking shit? As for that guy's mystery role, they said the same shit about Dan Amboyer, and that famewhore weasel let everyone think he was Green Lantern when he was some military douche only worth 1 second of screentime on the director's cut.

Never realized how applicable that quote is for Snyder. Guess it's cause I've never seen him as the loser..
BvS is easily the most misunderstood work in recent times. Even WB said it would go over a lot of people's heads before it came out. Because the movie is about God. It's a mythical movie using Batman and Superman as the vehicle. Problem is we live in a time where people just simply don't care about that stuff
