I simply can't understand why they'd do this. In my honest opinion deleting message boards with so much history is a modern-day equivalent of burning books. We've already lost most of the Internet's history from the early '90s but at least then the excuse was that sites were coming and going, and storing space was very expensive. Nowadays these reasons cease to hold weight.

Only someone with bad intentions or clinically retarded would approve such a decision.

But I have to say I do get responses to those lonely first posts in a couple days or less. I think that is due to https://www.themoviedb.org/discuss/movies which IMDb didn't have afaik.
