I wouldn't call them inaccuracies, just biased interpretations. Stone is clearly a leftist and takes every opportunity to put right wingers in a bad light. That said all the factual statements he makes are true and there are lots of interesting things I've never heard of before. It persuaded me for example that the US was basically the aggressor in the Cold War; Stone treats that as a bad thing but in the end how you feel about that fact depends on what you think of the Soviet Union.

Kind of, it was critical of his worth as a president but makes it clear he was in over his head rather than evil. It's the same in the documentary series, he has an agenda but also has the restraint not to demonize people (mostly).

>Theroux' "My scientology movie"
It was actually pretty fucking hideous and a pretty stupid move to try and follow Gibney's "Going Clear" with that tub of shit.

The only redeeming feature were the unscripted oddities like Paz de la Huerta showing up. So perhaps 1% of the material is somehow funny or worth watching.

Not only is there nothing new or useful revealed or explored, it actually isn't even about anything. It has no theme. He flirted with the idea of guilt-tripping defectors but let that go pretty quickly.

I was bored one night and came across the title on IMDB. I didn't read the entire synopsis; only what's shown on it, which is "People suffer largely unnoticed while the rest of the world goes about its business. This is a documentary exploration of the mythic beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge, the most popular...". I'd thought it was going to about a civil engineering documentary or something. I was glad that it wasn't remotely close to what I had expected.

people on /tv/ praise it for it's accuracy and I have to agree it was extremely well done. the grenade kicking midair, making of on the special edition blu ray shows how they practiced that shot(almost all of it is practical) with pic carcasses.
same with the revenant, ballistic gel dummies and pig bodies were attacked by starving bears and they did almost the same attacks as was seen on screen (it was a real trained Russian bear BTW, only CGI was used to tone down the action)

>>81161307

Like any intelligent, forward thinking citizens of the 21st century, my wife and I are feminists. And like any feminists we were shocked and disgusted by this movie.

Both the main character (Jiro) AND the narrator are male! If alarms aren't going off in your head so far you're probably a bigot. Things became more and more repulsive as the movie played on. All of the supporting characters are male! And even worse, almost every single character in the movie is male!

I don't care if this is a documentary. My wife left the room in tears at the end of the first hour during a particularly sickening scene where Jiro serves a room full of customers. He says (not an exact quote) "I made the meals smaller for the women and larger for the men so that everyone would finish at the same time." Things like this would be expected in a film about Adolf Hitler or Winston Churchill (both disgusting sexist pigs)but in a movie about food it was just chilling. And that wasn't even the worst part! The women in the room appeared (probably special effects or movie magic of some type) TO APPROVE OF THIS. Can you believe that?

My wife won't talk about it and I'm not sure I could if I wanted to. I finished the movie with tears in my bloodshot eyes. I can't believe we've advanced so far as a society and women are still seen as being gutter scum.

Anyone forward thinking enough to simply be on the internet, to find this movie, to read this review, will be disgusted by the brutally sexist assault on your senses and common decency this movie has gotten away with.

These opinions are actually all rather good I must say. I would agree with practically every word except I think OJ: Made in America and Crumb are both amazing.

Here are some proper patrician documentaries you bunch of plebs:

Welfare by Wiseman
Hospital by Wiseman
High School by Wiseman
Symbiopsychotaxiplasm by Greaves
This is Not a Film by Panahi
Los Angeles Plays Itself by Andersen
Tie Xi Qu by Bing

Congrats, you are then on the level of a deluded tripfaggot
>>
>>81171821

I dunno who that person is but they have better taste than nearly everyone in this thread of plebs

nicely samefagged with your phone.
>>
>>81171683
I like "Crumb", I just don't think it's amazing.

"Symbiopsychotaxiplasm" is good, but it's kind of pretentious (in the literal sense of the word), and could be edited tighter.

>>81171952

mfw I literally have a flip phone and thus cannot access the internet
>>
>>81171921
You should get a trip yourself. You clearly deserve it, faggot
>>
>>81171952
Go watch some Sokurov before posting again, okay?
>>
>>81171967

What about the Wiseman brah?

It's a little weird that your list had no Wiseman on it...
>>
One of the greatest documentary I've ever seen
>>
>>81172003
Sorry, I've only seen "High School", I'm not educated on Wiseman. I haven't seen the Wang Bing either.

Kill yourself, Thor.
You're pretentious (in the literal sense of the word), a wannabe connoisseur. Your insight into cinema is worth shit, and of course it must be remembered, you're also a failed ''''filmmaker''''
>>
>>81172056

Shit man. Hit some more Wiseman. I'd say he's one of the best American filmmakers ever.
>>
>>81162919
I've heard this one's really good. I kind of know the just of what happens, and it is pretty fucked up. I'm glad this guy stood up and did something good for the world.
>>
>>81172056
>I'm not educated
This part should come in the trip
>>
>>81165077
The sequel wasn't amazing as the first but still worth the watch. The part where they just dance to Gunther got me for some reason because it reminded me when my friends and I used to do the same when I was younger.

most docs im leary of because they distort facts, but since the subject of zombies seem ineffectual, I found this doc to be well made.. it got all the major players of the genre including george romero and creators of walking dead, and explored the history of the concept of zombies, and how it was a distorted ide from voodoo. They even got a semi famous voodoo priest to discuss it in detail.

Still without it, faggot
