Huge fan of the 1995 original. Seriously one of my favorite animated films of all time.

And I loved ScarJo Ghost in the Shell. I felt that it did enough new and kept enough of the original.

It almost feels like a damned if you do damned if you dont situation. Like if they had just completely mimicked the original people would have bitched, And the same if they didnt.

It had many of the slow contemplative quiet moments the original had. And does have the same questions the original had.

It isnt all just dumb action.

Major was great. Batou was dope.

I give the movie a 7/10. I really liked the sound design and soundtrack, i loved how synth heavy it was and the callbacks to original songs. Aesthetic in general was pretty nice. Story was not that great, but i expected as much. They recreated a lot of scenes from the original well but all the reasons behind them were changed. It was decent, i enjoyed it.

Anyone who thought this wouldn't be shit is an idiot.
