Christ. I thought this was supposed to be in the original timeline. Why are they bringing back and recasting all these characters, why did this shit have to be ten years before TOS when the obvious way to go would be post-Nemesis. This is even worse than the Han Solo prequel, now while they have two late 20s kids who "grow up" into late 30s, Mudd was like 50 and Sarek a 100. It's a shame too they've got guys like James Frain and Jason Isaacs which has got me hyped but the whole production sounds like the biggest mess ever.

I agree, but that basically declares the new movie universe as something else -- old and maybe abandoned, which I'm sure they don't want either because they are not done with it.
