i liked the way hector(?) slowly realized what he needed to do.

my first guess was that he was the bandage guy, but as the film went on I realized that was too obvious. but hey it turns out I was right, and they did it really well because you can see how he as a character copes with his position and just gets it done.

Many horror/sci-fi flicks follow this trope, because they provide fantastical settings with just a few people involved. Even though there are several extras, there's only like four or five real characters in 2001.

Cube is also extremely similar to Alien in many ways, and has a small cast*

I am of the opinion that the original Evil Dead is a good movie. It only has five characters.
