Was he literally autistic
>ridiculously clean apartment
>loves mechanics
>excels at one thing
>stone face at just about everything happening around him
>stays quiet and forces a smile all the time
>the only time he ever shows emotion is when he told some guy to fuck off
I like the movie but I don't know if the character is stoic or at the high end of the spectrum
Also Drive thread.
Is this photo actually from Drive? If so then from what scene?

Basically this except he was Israeli. Hence the need to get the money back to the jewish gangsters. He thought they were up to something and didn't want to delay the operation or make them break opsec by saying what the money was for or even reveal his true purpose.
The whole movie is about a retired operator trying to get money back to the mossad without them knowing he was one of them.
He's refn's self-insert so of course he's autistic.

could be, in the book it's explained he saw his mother kill his father then was sent into a foster home where he learned his skills with the racers nearby. He eventually left one day with their car, leaving a note. Came back one day years later to leave money for the stolen car.

>"He's refn's self-insert"
>written by Hossein Amini
>from a novel by James Sallis

Refn is not autistic, he's a normal sensitive guy acting autistic.
I'm under the impression he was a full blown psychopath, he has zero problems with committing murder, being chased by cops, hitting women, crashing cars etc.
