Now that I've finished this, Regular Show, and Adventure Time is ending in a season, I don't think there's much in the way of kid shows left for me to enjoy from the West

Probably for the best I guess

I watched a couple of episodes and it seemed pretty good. I just hate torrenting 20 minute cartoons, it feels so wrong. Like, kids shows are to be experienced via television, surely, encountered at random. If I downloaded and binged all of Spongebob or Recess I doubt I would love them as much as having them drop into my house at 4:30pm after school.

You have to be in the right mindset. If you're a strict kino viewer only interested in serious shit you won't be able to enjoy it. If you can still watch spongebob now and realize that the show is unironically great, you might have a chance at enjoying this. No, it's pretty neutered as far as "mystery" shows go. Which is understandable given it's on the Disney channel. The problems mostly stem from monster of the week syndrome mixed with standard kid friendly bullshit (Miserable and unneeded romance subplots, filler episodes to pad lenght, a fair amount of lampshading to cover up tone inconsistencies).

my gf and i watched gravity falls together and she bought me Journal 3 for christmas. i recommend it to anyone who watched the series.

since disney didn't have as much say over the content it's heavier on the violence. even confirms that the red liquid on the pages is blood from Stanford's eyes when he tried to gouge them out when he was possessed by Bill

children's television needs more shit like gravity falls. wish it would've come out when i was a kid so i wouldn't have to feel weird watching and genuinely enjoying a kid's show as a 23 year old, but fuck it
