I was going to say uglier, but ended up writing ugly for some reason.

Could it have anything to do with filming for 3D? I know they always have to amp up the brightness/colors for the 3D version because so much light is lost from the polarized lenses. Maybe they're coloring things in a way that will look the same in 3D when they process it, so people won't say the 3D one looks shittier?
