the movie is bad for falling into the typical science fiction evil corp of robocop without the charm. But EVERYTHING ghost in the shell is there and it works. It fucking works. Sure its adapted as a blob from the original 1995 and Kuze's story from SAC 2nd gig. And its actually a really clever to start this as a franchise.

I'm confused why anyone would want to watch this movie at all. If you want to watch Ghost in the Shell go watch the original Ghost in the Shell. If you want to watch something inspired by Ghost in the Shell go watch the Matrix. Both exist and you should have access to each already.

Just came back from the film. It was shit, they didn't even include the best fucking scene in the original. Pic related.

They even fucked up the garbagemen. It was an instant jump and bam, they were hacked, suddenly had guns and rammed the car, unlike how they were in the original.

I was really disappointed by that. They tried to capture it in a couple very small shots but nothing worthwhile. It's like everyone involved didn't notice how the setting was also a character in the original -- one that not only sets the tone for the entire film but has such a palpable presence that it's not hard to see how it's affected the characters. I don't even particularily like anime aside from GITS. But they always do the same shit to good stories; they dumb it down for the masses, make it about bam bam ur ded, and in the end only have a few scenes to compare the two to.
