Politically charged and socially relevant deconstruction of two of America's most mythic superheros. Snyder shows us the world as it is, rather than some made up fantasy designed only to further pacify and infantilize the audience.

That's a very astute observation.

I liked how it called out journalism in general via Clark's statements to Perry and how it showed even the Planet wasn't above sensationalism. You remember that bit where they started trying to paint Supes as being complicit through inaction?

It still amazes me people could see that scene and not understand what they were doing with his character.
