It's fucking great. It also goes to show that even though Mann becomes a little more stripped down narratively as he goes along -- at least in the past decade or so -- he's still very much remained in the same thematic lane and I love all of it.
>they installed a real vault and burned through it for real
Soundtrack is 80s overdose, cinematography is just superb (duh, Mann), neon everywhere
Refn's Drive tried to be this film + the driver, and failed.

Also, I love that poster.
In general a film like this just couldn't be made today, eye-catching poster art included

No, this is

>guy threatens to kill my family
>better completely alienate my wife and torch my entire business and THEN go after the guy
This flick is silly trash, good cinematography notwithstanding.

possibly. I recently watch 'the keep'. It started well but turned out to be my least favourite mann film apart from public enemies.
Shaky cam was a mistake.

Essential Mann kino coming through
Heat is obviously the biggest masterpiece. I miss Mann. I want him back to make another Collateral or something. But his last two movies weren't well received. Ferrari is coming out in 2018.
