I've watched so much fucking horror movies and real gore I'm mostly desensitized to violence, both real and fictional. I don't mean this as a boast, but as an acknowledgement that something might be wrong with me.

That said, the one thing that still gets me, wether it's in a movie or in real life, is fractures. Screams don't really phase me, but the sound of bones snapping always makes me cringe hard.

those always get me. we watched this civil war documentary in high school US history class where they had a dramatized amputation scene and I had to stop watching and put my head down cus I was getting too queasy. when I finally sat back up I had been sweating so much that the paper on my desk stuck to my forehead.

every time I watch a civil war kino I'm on high alert for those scenes, like an animal watching for predators
