Movies are for escapism. When the real world political agendas bleed into a place where they are not wanted, it defeats the purpose... suspension of disbelief dies... and the you "really makes you think" yourself when you should just be focusing on the characters and the stakes

I'm glad we're going to see some much needed empowerment of the naturally-great-at-everything Mary Sue character of the century, who never once faces discrimination on the foundation of gender in the whole of The Force Awakens
