I don't understand why the seasons are so padded in the first place. Isn't it bringing just as many people to the platform regardless of how many episodes it is? It's not like Netflix gets to run an extra three or four commercials because of the extra episode. It still costs the same monthly fee that everything else on the service costs. Why not take the same budget being spent on 12/13 eps and spend it on a tighter, shorter season?

Does Netflix *want* us to use more bandwidth? That's the only thing they're achieving. Surely getting my monthly fee and delivering *less* data to me over that month makes more economic sense? Right?

Ya I forgot about that. I could only assume that the guy just sold it and didn't actually produce it. It's just that it's a particularity brutal and crushing scene that would probably translate well to the show.
