my new fav reaction image
>>
>>81027568

it was alright. not as depressing people made it out to be. didn't that chick get nominated for best supporting actress. she was only the movie for like 5 minutes. the gf's mom had more screen time.
>>
>>81027601
That scene gave me goosebumps
>>
>>81027568
couldnt finish it because of how bad caseys acting was
>>
>>81027568
Wanted badly to see it. Girl I'm seeing wouldn't get off my dick long enough for us to go to the theater.

Looks good though. I imagine I'll netflix it at somepoint. Judiding by the Oscar's bullshit of "hurr durr white male can't win an award" it probablly is good too.
>>
>>81027568
#1 movie of 2016 for me. 10/10
>>
Not Lonergan's best, but not far off.
>>
>>81027568
Should have won Best Picture.
>>
>>81028086
Fuck yes. Moonlight was very good, but in no way was it inferior to MbtS.
>affirmative action
>>
>>81027776
>guys I have sex lol
>>
>>81028217
SHIEEET
>>
>>81027568
It was decent. Some parts were kino but it was ultimately a let down for me.
>>
>>81028208
>inferior
Meant the other one
>>
>>81027568
favorite movie of 2016 desu
>>
>>81027601
;_;

this scene makes me sad as fuck
>>
>>81028217
Not that much. It's a long distance relationship and we see each other on an average of one weekend every 2 weeks. It's more about how I haven't seen a film in theaters in ages and want to go but it never works out.

That last film I saw in theaters was a screening of Casablanca months ago with the girl I was seeing at the time. She fell asleep. I knew shit wasn't work out at that point.
>>
I cried during The part where he was walking back to his house with two frozen turkeys in a stroller and found out in a drunken haze he put his kids in the oven.
>>
I liked it, but the ending felt unsatisfying for some reason. Like, it just kinda petered out.
>>
>>81027776
>I imagine I'll netflix it at somepoint
Movie is owned by Amazon Studios, so I imagine you will never see this on Netflix.
>>
>>81028465

point taken.
>>
>Cause my heart was broken. And it's always gonna be broken. And I know yours was broken too

Teared up at that point, such a beautifully written film. None of the big emotional punches felt like they were scripted or built up for effect, but you still understood why they were impactful.
>>
>>81027568
I loved it. It was my equal second favourite from the nominated films.

I loved the brave finish to though I'd be lying if part of my didn't want things to go a different way.

Honest film though. Casey Affleck was superb.
>>
>>81028367
literally no one cares
>>
Second favourite of the year behind La La Land, and one of the best scripts in recent memory.
>>
>>81028396
I have no idea why this dumb post made me laugh so hard.
>>
Boring as fuck movie with subpar acting from everyone except afflect

Maybe its the dumb non-existent plot or the forced emotional lashes from the characters that made this movie seem like a joke
>>
>>81028545
least of all a dumb cunt like you.
Now fuck off m8. No one cares about you.
>>
>>81028450
I think it's more that we see him growing into the father role again and it's disappointing that he won't let himself commit fully.
>>
>>81028627
Yeah, I hate it when my parents drag me to movies too.
>>
>>81028511
That scene got me more than that police station. Jesus I welled up just reading that.
>>
>>81028396

jesus christ
>>
>>81028750

did it? Or are you one of many who pretend to see something deeper that wasn't really there???
>>
>>81029306
There's nothing deeper there you, sperg. It's two people confronting the grief that tore them apart whilst both acknowledging the feelings they still have for each other but one being too pained to by the past to move on.

It's an emotionally devastating moment and not meant to be anything other than that.

That scene fell so fucking flat. You know you are lying
>>
>>81029502
I'm really not.

Why do you think it falls flat?
>>
>>81027568
Literally nothing happens: The Movie
>>
>>81027992
Very far off, actually.

Also, Margaret is 6.84/10
>>
>>81027568
My third favorite of last year. Amazing movie void of any cliches or boring characters.
Casey Affleck was amazing.
>>81027601
This image is stuck in my head whenever I think of the movie.
>>
as someone from manchester in england i was very confused

was expecting affleck to walk up with a little swagger and go "yorite ar kid"
>>
>>81028367
how the hell are you complaining about lack of free time when your in a long distance and see each other every other weekend? Jesus christ.
>>
>>81029537

I'll be honest here and I know it comes down to subjective reasoning and you will probably call me a sperg but the whole movie itself fell flat. The entire time when something tragic happened my only reaction was "ok?" the movie hamfisted in my opinion tragic event after tragic event with little development that when it led up to the scene with his ex wife I felt little to nothing. To each their own but I felt this movie was hot dogshit. I was also really looking foreward to it and Casey is in my top 5. He was better as an emotionless jerk in Lonesome Jim than this oscar studded turd
>>
>>81029306
>did it?
Did I stutter nigger? And >>81029455 pretty much sums it all up. I'd add that it was about his inability to forgive himself and her attempt to not only apologize for how she acted, but also to tell him she forgives him, BUT ALSO to try to get him to see it would be ok for him to forgive himself.

Forgiveness is a theme that when well done, activates my feels.

Sorry it didn't click with you, but there are plenty of popular well-reviewed films I've hated. Vive la difference and plenty of movies to see.
>>
>>81028511
Michelle Williams sounds too much like Bill Cosby delivering this line for it to have maximum effect. Made me laugh.

Similar note--not many people talk about how genuinely funny this movie was. The audience in my theater was rolling for some of it. Mostly the dynamic between Casey and the kid.
>>
kino
>>
>>81028367
Oh my god.
>>
It's an absolute master class of cinema.

How can a movie be this depressing and make you care about all the characters and the shit they have gone through while also having some genuine laugh out loud moments.

It would have won best picture if it weren't for BlackLivesMatter and other terrorist organisations.

Good response. Seriously A+/10. meanwhile if you do have children they are being neglected by a father who is going back and forth between a drunken idiot about a movie on a chan forum arguing about sentimental esoteric feelings of parenthood or you are an autist who pretend they have children? The choice is yours XD
