Of course a big hollywood blockbuster will not give the philosophical aspects of the original that much space, but I think it still has potential to be a decent movie. I kind of like the risk the studio took with turning a quite challenging manga/anime that most people probably never heard of (compared to things like Naruto or One Piece) into a big blockbuster.

The new Arise also has a backstory where her brain was put into a prosthetic body before she was even born. So the 'lie' narrative has also been adapted from the anime.
