The thing about NGE is that you get a different take on it depending on what age you first watch it.

If you're an adult who's passed the emotional turmoil of adolescence you'll probably hate Shinji, his actions and his monologues. Be more interested in the plot, the spy shit and the elder god shit, and ultimately frustrated when they barely go into it.

If you're a teenager you'll most likely connect with Shinji, Asuka and Rei even if you hate yourself for it.

And if you're a kid when you first watch it you'll end up loving the show even when it confuses and frightens you. And you'll think Shinji and co. were not at fault and didn't deserve the things done to them.

Can you stop making threads on this movie? It was fucking awful, and anyone calling it good is only because it was Jap made.

It somehow managed to be even more boring than the 2014 film while having a hilariously AWFUL design and story. It wasn't even cheesy in an enjoyable way like the older films.

I say this as a Godzilla fan that owns majority of the movies on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray. It's Godzilla's Revenge levels of bad, except that one was actually kind of enjoyable in a so bad it's good kind of way.

that's where you went wrong kiddo. this movie is one of the few that is absolutely made to be seen on a big screen. I saw the midnight showing at the century in times square, and the reveal of the fish-eye goji was truly chilling.
