I just watched it, it's shit. The 5 minutes of the movie where Godzilla rampages around are by far the best part, the rest is just cringeworthy nip "acting" and a pretty uninteresting conclusion. Its an inside joke from anno.

So these subtitles should sync up just fine with with the BD rip, but how about the placement of the signs? The giant MKV is just a direct port of the video and audio from the BD and so the video is letterboxed within the 1080 frame. We may need someone to tweak the subs a little further for optimal playback on that rip.

As for this Gamera trilogy vs. the best of Godzilla, I see no reason to pick sides. Both franchises have their better, middling and outright bad entries. Godzilla peaked quality-wise with the original, Gamera with the '90s trilogy. Honestly Godzilla '54 and Gamera 3 are pretty close to tied for me... G3 is definitely my favorite of the two, though.

Saw it. It was pretty much the best thing that happened to Godzilla since the first movie. I rank it second after it. The rythm, the tone, the score and the social commentary in this are exquisite. It is the first Godzilla movie since 54 where the human centered plot didn't suck and was well acted out. Hell, even the women are hot.
This redeemed Anno for the clusterfuck he is delivering with Eva Rebuilds in my eyes. Most pleasant cinematic surprise of 2016 for me.

I had a blast, this was the "post 9/11 monster movie" I knew we'd never get.

Let me explain, something like cloverfied is a fun pov for about 20 minutes, but you're left on the backs of paper-thin characters.

Shin Godzilla was a beautifuly shot film where the crux is all based around "can these people in the room solve this problem".

It was genuinely fun to watch, well paced, funny (which I find most Japanese attempts of humor cringeworthy) and unique.

Those are the subs that were ripped from the camrip. They don't work for the full film(the camrip is missing random chunks of the film, the sub gets thrown off literally seconds into it). Subanon is editting that one and adding the missing dialogue I think.
