Early 2000's have this weird aesthetic and feel to them that I just can't properly describe
1940s-1960s posters were usually painted
1970s were still artwork but maybe had actual photos of characters in there
1980s moved onto more cartoonish renders
1990s incorporated more and more photographs
But I come up with a blank as to why everything in 2000's looks so distinct

High contrast in the photography as opposed to high saturation plus a slightly grainy look. They also often utilize a single flat black or white background as opposed to filling the frame with an elaborate shiny CGI-scape like now.
