First of all, asking questions that were already answered in the movie is worthless. Second, the movie says that seven of the X-Men were killed in an event similar to the one that took place in the casino. Charles laments what he did in his final scene. Can you not put two and two together?

If one did not catch it, fine. Okay, somethings slip by when watching a movie for the first time. But to go on the internet, bitch about a movie, and ask questions that have been asked and answered 50 million times adds nothing to a conversation.

Good performances by the cast, but Patrick Stewart was by far the best and really elevated the movie from something that was just generically gritty to something that touches the soul.

I'm conflicted because I think that he was underutilized, but what we got was enough to get the message across. I think it would have turned off your everyday audience if there was more depressing geriatric care fare.

Storywise it was nothing special. It was all about the characterization and character interactions, which is why is kinda ventured back into the original cheesy X-men territory in the third act in the forest.

The movie was basically Children of Men + Little Miss Sunshine (or The Last of Us if you want to include video games).

mfw that scene when the black guy after shooting the Logan clone, turns the gun on Logan himself after being pissed by Logan being the reason his entire family is dead. He then drops dead on the ground himself from loss of blood from stomach wound.
This scene reminded me of a scene from Bill Paxton in A Simple Plan with just how horrifying everything gets all of a sudden.

Some parts of the car hitting the barb wire sure was cgi but most of it was practical. Not like Snyder's Batman V Superman car chase that had CGI cars flying about that looked incredibly fake.

Camera ops make about $1k a day, usually more like $1200-1500 day for the big movies but the caveat is the guys who make that kind of money are basically on retainer for a big DP who only makes 1-2 movies a year and maybe some commercials on the side. A camera op like that may only work 40-50 days on the big jobs then take side jobs for half their rate on smaller commercials or other stuff.

It's a very high responsibility job. One wrong move, one wrong button press, wrong setting on the camera or something, and you could blow a shot that takes a half hour to reset which can translate, literally, into thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars lost.

You get paid to be rock solid reliable and on your game 24/7. It's probably the most "shuffled" position on a film crew. Once a producer or DP finds a gaffer or grip they like, they just bring them on everything whereas camera ops are constantly being fired and hired because it's so important to have a good one.

Getting into that position is a lot about networking but also experience. You won't get hired on a big shoot without a full page of medium-big budget productions on your resume.
