I really enjoy historical series, whether or not they are historically (in)accurate, or fictional, or fantastical, or whatever.
There should be more, but unfortunately quite a few have been cancelled in recent years, due to low ratings, I suppose.
Meanwhile, a seemingly endless stream of uninspired dramas and other stuff get churned out in droves.

There should be a series about Justinian and Theodora, the byzantine empire, Blues vs. Greens,Belisarius, and chariot racing. One of the seasons could culminate in the Nika riots

It would satisfy HBO's need for a stronk female lead (theodora -prostitute turned empress), although they'd probably make Justinian a homo who likes figs up his ass.
