Cloud Atlas would have been more successful if you didn't have to have read the book to understand the movie.

The book was structured with each story within the last. The movie was just randomly cut together, which was pretty hard to follow.

I mean, it wasn't perfect, and the message is a little happy-clappy simplistic for my taste generally. But it's got a great cast, and its an interesting idea.

I enjoyed that the movie at least had a vision and idea, and wasn't just paint-by-numbers blockboster. I didn't find it hard to follow, and I thought the different plots and genres element was fun.

Like I said, not perfect, but an A for effort, and an above average movie.
