Theres nothing wrong about it. You said the movie was probably bad because it doesnt use a groundbreaking storytelling, even though its a first feature.

Besides the movie presented itself as a genre movie, not an horror movie. I dont know how it was advertised to you but be wary if you're looking for a gory horror film
