Sure it's shit, but it's better than anything since the Governor died. Only the Rick episodes are shit because they're the same grimdark drivel that we've had for more than 2 seasons now, but there have been some great fucking moments this season that 5-6 were sorely lacking.

I don't think it happened over night. Rick and Michonne had tension between them about it over the course of the first half season. Have you been paying attention at all? Remember all those scenes where Rick told Michonne "you were right all along and I couldn't see it" and stuff like that?

The pacing is very good actually, you need to have in mind that you might be seeing one hour every week but each episode covers more period of time and there's always stuff happening in between episodes at times.

For a show that only has 16 episodes per year I think the pacing is good enough. His change didn't happen over night by any means. Maybe it dawned on you overnight that he changed.

If you take the episodes remotely, season 7 is really well made and one of the tops ones.

I mean come on, the theme of season 7 has to do with a literal war between survivors while the whole season 2 was about a single fucking barn full of zombies.

It's just that now that we're in season 7, the exciting idea of a post apocalyptic world overran by zombies, well, it's just not so exciting anymore.

Tl;dr I don't think that the show has gone too shit. It's still top notch production with very good performances.
What I do think is that the viewers have been getting arrogant and needy tho. It's also the fact that as a whole one season makes a lot of sense, but when you have mid season breaks and weeks between each episode, the cliff hangers turn out to be a huge frustration in the long run.
