Oil?
Reminder that Dave Chapelle quit comedy because he didn't like how someone laughed at one of his skits on set.
A comedian... who quit comedy... because he didn't like how someone was laughing.
To him, it was a "racist laugh".
He may be a comedian, but more than that, he is a joke himself.

I think that's unfair, he's a very talented man but was obviously having personal issues regarding life at the time.
that's why we see a very different Dave these days, we see someone who accepted that life is just.. shitty.
We've all had those moments where we reacted in ways that looking back could have been handled differently.
its just that his moment was during a multi million deal, which gets him shit on more than it would have during any other moment.

Actually he quit for a multiple number of reasons. Hollywood was starting to get to him and it's not the life he wanted.
well well well... a nigga named negan

>To him, it was a "racist laugh".
He was laughing at the wrong aspect of it
Imagine trying to deconstruct liberal's views of how conservatives act and have some liberal laugh because "yeah, that IS how conservatives act, all stupid and racist"
You'd be pissed
Now imagine if you had been doing that for years only to realize that maybe, just maybe, the only reason you made it so far doing what you've been doing is because people have grossly misunderstood the goals of your project
You don't have to empathize, but don't pretend you understand
bitch, you cookin'?

Didn't he talk about how one of his friends went crazy because of all that Hollywood shit?
I think it was in inside the actors studio.

Martin Lawrence.

You don't get it. In one of his stand ups Dave said how he would be in public with his kids and people would yell at his face RICK JAMES BITCH. Also some other black comedian was constantly telling him how white people didn't laugh with him but at him. And executives wanting him to wear a dress to effeminate black men.
>>80648430
He realized the industry was just using him to churn out jokes that the masses essentially liked because of the exaggerated depictions of blacks and not because of the underlying message.

Pretty much sums it up, and that's why these days you can tell he's more humble.
because he learned that in the end his feelings cost him millions of dollars and didn't change the world at all.
>>80648430
Nothing worse than when a comedian takes themselves too seriously.
>>80649678
>some other black comedian
Paul Mooney(sp?)
He made EVERYthing a race issue.
Kinda hijacked the show, tried to effect creative even.
