BLACKED by an aboriginal spirit

Maisie Williams already starred in that film that ripped it off.
That was probably the most boring movie I've ever seen, why the fuck was it even made?
doesn't matter what happened to them, this movie was a critique of liberal (((education))).

Literally nothing happens, and the climax of the movie is "lol nothing happened".
>>80642881
You mean women.
>>80642881
I was with my gf when I watched this years back. I was mesmerized while she fell asleep. Afterwards she implied it was because I was attracted to teenage girls that I liked it so much.
>>80641637
It's intentionally unknowable what happened to them. It's about the mystery of the wilderness in comparison to human-controlled civilization.
>>80643426
Three people go missing forever and the two of main characters in the cast pretty much kill themselves. How is that nothing happening?

But you don't even need that to come to some sort of similar conclusion about the film. They didn't need to put that out. It's already implied it's supernatural.
>>80643536
Were you?
>>80643581
imo its about liberation and oppression. reminds me alot of virgin suicides desu.
>>80643662
I'm on /tv/ what do you think?

>Afterwards she implied it was because I was attracted to teenage girls that I liked it so much.
Would you any of them though?
>>80643915
in a heartbeat
>>80641637
there was a space/time hole.
>>80643656
It's was just for the original novel when it was first written but the editor told the author to cut that shit out for the better.
It was transdimensional space-time rip (or possibly god) that stopped time or some shit and shfted the girls out of existence. Its explained in the lost chapter of the book, which the author female author scrapped. She then released it as a seperate chapter i believe and said it wasnt canon. But death of the author and all that shit.
My memory of it is pretty shaky because it was ages ago when i watched it but:
But im pretty sure it was a metaphor for sexual experience/loss of innocence in the film.
Fatty girl was the only one who didnt get 'taken' because she was too sexually immature and fat/disgusting to go through an actual sexual experience.
Was I the only one that got fucking freaked out watching this film ?
>>80644248
Reminder to people who havent watched this that this is 2am kino.
This should be watched at 2am in the morning along with stuff like Mulholland drive
>>80644248
it intentionally makes you feel uneasy and unfufilled. The mystery is supposed to make you feel anxious and yearn to know more.
Not all things have clear cut solutions.
>>80642864
I don't think it was exactly about that but it does have a somewhat negative look at boarding school.
You should try watching Innocence (2004) which went way deeper about those type of schools then anything Picnic did with it.

this
>>80644318
I watched this a couple of years ago at a 12:00 a.m of a saturday or friday night.
It was pretty good moody experience.
what are some other movies with a similar haunting/eerie vibe to this?
What do you think of the original ending?

The Virgin Suicide took a lot of inspiration from this you'll probably like it.
Cracks(2009) Eva green in it and the atmosphere of the film is fusion between this movie and Leni riefenstahl works in general.
The Falling(2014)
