I was glad we got 6 seasons, but the show just feels completely different after the first 3.

Always Sunny has felt the same throughout all seasons which is really impressive.

There were actually a handful of episodes in season 4 and 5 that were on par with the earlier seasons, but a lot of them were just forgettable. It felt like they were trying to forcibly recreate the feel of the first 2 seasons specifically which just made them seem weird in the end

(((Dan))) got the boot before S4, ruining his show forever.

He took it back and tried to piece together the scraps, but even he knew it wasn't the same thing. The last season is constantly making meta references to this.
Combined with Black Friend's mental breakdown, Dan pushing Chevy too hard, and all the other actors moving on to better things made it an absolute shitshow.
First three seasons are still GOAT sitcom though.
