This. It has become one of my most disliked sketches just because of its popularity. There's so much good stuff from them but this one is just not funny. The only good joke is when he talks about the budget they get and compares their institute to the military and education.
Now that I think about it maybe the reason it is so popular is because it's pretty much the only time the laugh track got obnoxious and it sounds like they're dying laughing. Is it really that simple? People watched it and since the laugh track is so intense people just assumed it was especially funny?
